Scrin opens in your browser.
No installer, no account, nothing to set up. One click and your first page is there — and from the second visit on, it opens with the network off. Your manuscript stays on your own machine.

Give it its own window
Optional, and it takes five seconds. Installed or not, it is the same Scrin with the same manuscript — installing only removes the tabs and the address bar, and puts it in your dock.

An install icon appears at the right of the address bar. If you don't see it, open the browser menu and choose to install this page as an app.
Safari on Mac
File → Add to Dock. Scrin then opens like any other application.
iPhone, iPad, Android
Share → Add to Home Screen. The keyboard shortcuts are on the desktop; the writing is everywhere.
If your invitation came with a key
Scrin is free to write in until 30 November without anything at all. If you were sent a key, open the help panel — ⌘ / on Mac, Ctrl / elsewhere — paste it, and editing stays open for the months it covers.
When a key runs out, nothing is taken from you: reading, history and exports stay free. Scrin locks features, never your words.
What it does today — and what it doesn't
You are among the first writers in. That is worth an honest inventory rather than a feature list: here is the whole of it, both columns.
It does
- —Bring a manuscript in: a Scrivener project (pick its .scriv folder), a folder of Markdown files, or a Word document.
- —Write with everything off — no network needed after the first visit, nothing to log into.
- —Freeze a scene before you rework it, and travel back through its history when the new version turns out worse.
- —Take your text out whenever you like: Markdown, Word (.docx), EPUB — plus a plain-text copy saved every day.
- —Read it in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese.
- —AI stays off until you switch it on with your own key, and it never writes in your place.
It doesn't, yet
- —Scrin does not sync between your devices yet. What you write here stays here — export it if you need it elsewhere.
- —There is no program to install from a file. Scrin runs in your browser; a signed application for macOS and Windows is not distributed yet.
- —A Scrivener import brings your text and your structure — chapters, folders, labels, statuses. It does not bring formatting, inline annotations or Scrivener snapshots.
- —A few corners of the interface — the export menu among them — are still only in French.
When something goes wrong, tell us
In the help panel there is a “write to support” button: it opens a message with the technical details already attached — version, browser, storage — and not one line of what you wrote. Or write straight to studio@7hazart.com.
What helps most: what you were doing in the minute before it happened. That single sentence is usually the difference between a bug we can reproduce and one we can't.
Scrin records what you do with the application — opened, imported, exported — never a word of what you write, and never a title or a file name. You can switch it off in the same help panel. The detail is in the privacy policy.
